Many Orthodox Christian do believe that reading is also considered to be blessed during this day which includes events and reads about the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Elders tell stories to the young ones and ask them to perform church activities throughout the day. The Greek Orthodox celebrates this day as Passion of Christ, as they think last moments Jesus spend was an example of many people.
In Greece, Good Fridayis celebrated in a different day. People try to stay away from household things. Young ones gather around the streets with Cross and flowers are delivered in the Churches. Many rituals are performed during this day one of them is called “Procession of Epitaphios ” where they put a cross on the decorated coffin. In the evening Epitaph procession takes place, and people perform them with great courage.
